How it all started

I have always been fascinated by the body and how it heals itself. My favourite game as a little girl in South Africa was to play nurses … and gardeners. So I basically ended up putting the two together and studying Homeopathy.

My first degree was in Psychology and I still really enjoy working helping people with their mental emotional health. The beauty of homeopathy is that you can actually treat mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and energetic health. I know.. who would have thought !

Traditional medicine and ancestral patterns

Indigenous peoples, and traditional medicines like Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine know that everything is connected and we are more than just our physical bodies. When there is imbalance in one area of our lives it impacts our health, whether it be body, mind or spirit.

I knew already when I was studying homeopathy that I wanted to study some kind of bodywork as well. I had already learned Reiki in my early twenties and was aware of the value of energetic healing, but working with the body directly is something else. Our bodies are an amazing tapestry of our whole lives and also carry the imprint of our ancestors. Each of our bodies has a unique story to tell, if one will listen to it.

Touch is powerful

The magic that can happen between people through the power of touch has been well researched and documented. Anxiety, depression, self confidence and self worth can all improve through regular bodywork. Massage can also treat serious injuries and chronic pathologies that are causing pain and incapacity in the body. So I am very excited to be able to incorporate both Clinical and Therapeutic Massage into my practice as well. I love the variety in my work and it is wonderful when I am able to bring homeopathy and massage together to treat people.

Why women’s health ?

In more recent years I have chosen to specialise in women’s health. Although I still work with men and children,  I feel particularly passionate about working with women in times of hormonal transition. I see many women struggling at these points. Either with their menstrual cycle, difficulty with fertility, in motherhood, and in menopause.

The world is moving at a rapid pace, information and technology are continually advancing.  As women we have so many different roles and people that we serve whether it be as partners, daughters, lovers or mothers. Within this I think it’s easy to lose sight of our own rhythm and the truth of our own bodies. How can we honour ourselves and our own needs when we have to keep pace with so many other things?

Through homeopathy and massage, I help busy, soulful women slow down, reconnect with their bodies and find their own rhythm again which in turn improves health and vitality.
