Anxiety and Panic Attacks “I feel stronger”

Marissa was 37 years old when she came to see me to help with her panic attacks. She had been working in a business for a number of years within the financial department and was suffering from adrenal exhaustion and stress due to the long hours and nature of her work. She also had two young children and had not really stopped to take any time off work even after the difficult birth of her first daughter as she was afraid of losing her position at the company which was very competitive.

When Marissa came to see me for homeopathy, she was exhausted. She was drinking alot of tea and coffee in the day to keep going, and was snacking on chocolate bars in the afternoon when she would feel at her lowest. Her job was office based and she spent most of it sitting at her desk. She had stopped all forms of exercise, and was overweight.  Not only was Marissa suffering from panic attacks, but she also had insomnia and low level constant anxiety.

Her doctor had prescribed her anti-depressants and sleeping tablets, but they made her feel very foggy headed and disconnected from her children. She felt hopeless and decided to try an alternative.

Over a course of treatment Marissa’s health dramatically improved. We had to look at the practical things like improving her diet, and introducing supplements to support her system which was quite depleted. She had to make time for doing things that replenished her system like yoga and begin exercise again. But it was really when we treated the grief she felt at losing her Mum when she everything began to improve. Even after a few sessions she said: “I feel stronger, and that I can cope again. “
