Anxiety – How Homeopathy can help

hummingbird Homeopathy for anxiety

When I was a little girl of 6 or 7 years old, I remember having anxiety.

There was a definite change in the pace of life for me at that time. I went from Pre School in South Africa to Sub A. That’s like going from Reception to Year 1. Suddenly everyone wore uniforms, we had to behave, not waste toilet paper or we got a hiding, and there was classwork with ticks and crosses. I got the message early on that it was important to do well, and became quite a worrier ! Before all my piano exams my heart would pound, I would have stomach pains and sometimes even throw up.

By the time I became an adult, I had learned how to manage my anxiety, but this involved mostly ignoring it or doing things to distract away from it , like being busy or overeating.

When I came across homeopathy in my twenties though, I discovered that our mind and body are connected. When we have a thought it affects our emotions and our bodies. I knew I couldn’t keep running anymore, and that it was time to face my demons.

By being so busy I was actually producing more of the hormone cortisol which was keeping me in the fight flight response ready to fight that imaginary tiger !

Over a period of time, which included taking homeopathic remedies to release excess stress hormones and re-balance my system, I was able to completely rewire myself.

Now I know that I can improve my mental emotional wellbeing by making healthier choices.

My top tips for reducing anxiety

  • Slow Down
  • Avoid refined foods and sugar to balance bloodsugar
  • Exercise
  • Mindfulness
  • Spend time in Nature
  • Develop a Gratitude Practice
  • Homeopathy to rebalance hormones

Having suffered from anxiety in the past, I understand how debilitating it can be.

I love seeing the difference homeopathic treatment can make in people.  Within a few session there is usually improvement.

There can be some complex reasons why anxiety is being felt.  It could be to do with trauma, genetic inheritance, hormonal imbalance, thyroid or digestive issues or lifestyle factors.

In the homeopathic consultation we investigate your life to see what the triggers and patterns are so that we can get to the root of it. The remedies themselves nourish the nervous system, bring hormones back into balance, and heal past traumas which may be standing in the way of regaining health. A combination of improved diet, homeopathic treatment, and lifestyle changes can really help.

Fear and anxiety produce exactly the same response in our bodies as excitement. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could just flip the switch so we can allow ourselves to feel and be open to something positive coming into our lives?  I have found homeopathy to be an amazing tool for improving anxiety.
